In India, Rasam is used as a natural digestive recipe, no meals are fulfilled without Tomato Rasam. Tomato Rasam prepared with turmeric, peppercorns, cumin seeds, and garlic helps digestion. It cures cold and mild fevers, also it is an immunity booster. In this #Rasam I will show you how to get cook a healthy and tasty rasam in 10 minutes.




Ingredients for #ThakkaliRasam


* Tomato - 2 (Diced) * Tarmarind - lemon sized * Tumeric - 1/4 spoon * Pepper - 1 Spoon * Dried Chillies - 2 * Garlic - 4 Cloves * Cumin seeds - 1 spoon * Asafoetida - a pinch * Rasam Powder - 1/2 sppon * Oil - as required * Water - as required * Curry Leaves & Corriander leaves



Method of Preparation for #RasamRecipe

  • Take a kadai, add two diced tomatoes, and lemon-sized tamarind.
  • Add little water and a spoon of salt.
  • Boil the tomatoes for 5 minutes
  • Take a spoon of cumin seeds, peppercorns, one dried chili, and 4 garlic cloves to a mortar and coarsely grind them.
  • Turn off the stove and add cool water to the tomatoes as required.
  • Mashed the tomatoes and add coarsely ground mixture. Add a spoon of Rasam powder and half a spoon of turmeric powder.
  • Turn on the stove. Place a kadai, add three spoons of oil and half a spoon of mustard seeds.
  • Once the mustard seeds start to splutter add a pinch of asafoetida.
  • Add few curry leaves and one green chili to the hot oil.
  • Add the tomato mixture to the hot oil and let it boil. Add coriander leaves to the Rasam mixture.
  • Turn off the stove.
